Very first, there was Beyonce. Now, here’s the clean-living, happily married career woman who rarely may be the subject any scandals (unless you depend drawing the wrath of Etta James). Beyonce can also be rarely the target of any Auto-Tunes/ProTools-centric allegations that she cannot sing. Because, nicely, she can. But this week Beyonce’s expertise was called into question, when the tape of her unedited vocals, supposedly pulled for that Today Show soundboard, was played upon Howard Stern’s radio show. The mp3 of her allegedly live “If WE Were A Boy” performance sounded even worse than an American Idol reject’s poor audition, and soon all the blogosphere had been debating Beyonce’s vocal abilities, or absence thereof. Was Beyonce really just an additional lip-synching Britney or Ashlee?
